March 20, 2013 served as the inaugural night for Hollygrove’s annual philanthropic event, the Norma Jean Gala. Through this event, Hollygrove demonstrated their commitment to “do whatever it takes to help children, strengthen families, build community, advocate for systems, and ensure that [their] families thrive”  by raising money to ensure the children and families they reach out to a brighter future.

David Burtka served as the Master of Ceremonies, while the event was hosted by Busy Philipps, Debby Ryan, Diane Ledd, and Neil Patrick Harris. Taking place at the TLC Chinese Theatre, 250 gala attendees came together in a charitable effort to raise a total of $200,000, which did and will continue to help fund Hollygrove’s programs for foster care, mental health, and social work. The fundraiser featured an extremely unique element-an exhibit that highlighted pieces of art that had been crafted by children during one of Hollygrove’s programs, “An Endless Summer.”

The second annual Norma Jean Gala is scheduled to be held on March 18, 2014 at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills. Aside from fundraising for Hollygrove’s children and families-the most fundamental aspect of the evening, the event will feature a standout performance by Ruby Stewart and the students of Hollygrove’s after school program. Busy Phillips will serve as the night’s Master of Ceremonies, and additionally will be hosted by George Lopez, Debby Ryan, and Diane Ladd.
